Although Google released the source code of the operating system a month ago, the full update is only available now.
As usual, Pixel device owners are the first to access the latest version of the operating system, but the update will also reach other manufacturers in the coming months.
The main focus of Android 15 is security and privacy. The new AI-powered Detection Lock feature against theft helps protect data, while additional layers of authentication ensure security when removing the SIM card or disabling Find My Device.
Other new features include pinning and unpinning the taskbar on tablets and foldables, app merging for easy multitasking, and support for satellite messaging when you’re out of range.
