Recently, the Japanese edition of Famitsu featured an interview with SIE Platform Experience senior vice president Hideaki Nishino. In it, journalists reminded Sony’s top executive of the launch of the PlayStation 4 Pro, just three years after the original PS4 was released.

Suddenly, Nishino didn’t make excuses or pretend he didn’t remember it. Instead, he hinted at something interesting by saying, “I hope you look forward to next year.”

Journalists and experts quite plausibly concluded that a representative of the Japanese company transparently hinted that the Pro version of the PlayStation 5 will be announced as early as 2023.

He also shared the company’s latest forecasts: By the end of 2022, Sony expects cumulative sales of PlayStation consoles to exceed 37 million units.
