Users will be able to view their balance, transaction history and transfer money between accounts. Testing is also taking place at the Finopolis 2024 forum on Sirius, where visitors can be the first to connect to the beta version and try out the new functionality.

Sber is also collaborating with Gazprombank and Sovcombank on similar open banking projects: in 2025, customers will be able to add cards and accounts from these banks to each other’s applications. First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank Kirill Tsarev said that this step is aimed at creating a smooth personal finance management system.

VTB is also considering the implementation of Open API, the bank said in a statement received by RB.RU. The credit institution plans to create a unified interface for managing accounts and cards with Pochta Bank and RNKB, which VTB intends to absorb until 2025. Customers of these banks will be offered “the simplest possible account transfer from the banks merged into VTB using open banking technologies,” said Vadim Kulik, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of VTB.

Open API technology involves the use of modern standards for secure data integration and exchange, enabling seamless interaction between banks, fintech services and end users.
