Nvidia has a conference for CES 2025 where it will announce the new RTX 5090 and 5080 cards. The rest of the portfolio is expected not to take long and will arrive in the first quarter. According to information published on the Chinese forum Board Channels, the company should launch the GeForce RTX 5070 and 5060 between February and March.
In a forum post citing leaks from the tech world, a writer suggests that Nvidia will essentially launch the Blackwell generation all at once in the first three months of 2025. During the conference at CES, CEO Jensen Huang is expected to announce the launch of RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti in February, following the RTX 5090/5090D and RTX 5080 as high-end models.
March will see the arrival of the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti, completing the first cycle of this generation. The post also notes that the company has no plans to release SUPER versions like it did earlier this year; But this is a plan that can and should change over time.
bold strategy
Speculation should be approached with caution, as it is not uncommon for so many graphics cards to be released in such a short period of time. Generally, series ending in 90 and 80 are released first, followed by models with 70 and finally 60 chips, but almost always released several months apart.
If this plan comes true, Nvidia will launch six graphics cards in the first quarter of 2025, without taking into account the final RTX 5090D, which should be exclusive to the Chinese market. If the planning of previous generations is also preserved, we can expect the RTX 5080 Ti variant and 5050 versions to arrive alongside laptop GPUs in the coming years.
Nvidia’s strategy may be related to AMD not investing in high-end graphics cards in the next generation. Thus, the green team would have absolute dominance in the premium and high-end intermediate segment.
