The center combined five laboratories, including the biocontainment laboratory, microbiology laboratory and plant disease ecology laboratory. The press service noted that students and graduate students actively participate in the project, allowing them to gain experience in real scientific research.
The center was created as part of the Priority 2030 program and will develop bioinsecticides to help effectively combat the growing threat of insect pests. Pest activities continue to increase due to global warming, causing significant crop losses. The new center will make it possible to find more environmentally friendly ways to protect plants by minimizing the use of chemicals, the press service added.
