Despite the increase in prices, monetary sales of wearable devices increased by 17%, reaching 38 billion rubles. However, the average price of wearable devices increased by 10-22 percent, which also affected the demand. According to the OFD Platform, the average bill for smart watches reached 8,090 rubles, an increase of 9% compared to last year.
As Evgeny Kharitonov, editor-in-chief of Ferra.ru, noted, “technological progress in wearable devices has slowed down.” He notes that while most manufacturers offer the same features they did two years ago, smartwatches have become more versatile.
While Huawei, Xiaomi and Apple brands were among the best sellers on Citylink, the most popular devices on Wildberries were Hoco, Dsaila and F9. Domestic manufacturer Elari, whose children’s smart watches are in demand 46 times more than last year, has demonstrated a unique success.
According to experts, Russia’s wearable electronics market has matured and new factors such as changing form factors and extended device replacement times are affecting demand.
