Scientists have discovered that due to their unique anatomy and body awareness, cats can easily move through tight spaces and appear to “flow” through tight spaces.
Ethologist Peter Pongrács from Eötvös Loránd University conducted an experiment to find out whether cats are aware of their size.
The results showed that the cats had no problem passing through narrow openings, but were more careful in low openings that required crouching. This shows that they are aware of their size and can adapt behavior depending on the situation.
Thus, cats are not only flexible, but also have the ability to make decisions based on awareness of their own bodies, further emphasizing their intellectual abilities.
