According to the profile, Newton is listed as a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and allegedly uses an email with the domain mit.edu.

This fun fact was noticed by mathematics professor James Cummings, who sarcastically congratulated Newton on his new “position”. This caused a wave of comments and jokes on social networks.

Users also did not ignore the profile of Albert Einstein, who had not yet “confirmed his email”, which added even more humor to the discussion.

Such cases illustrate the weaknesses of Google Scholar, where verification only applies to email and the identity of the profile owner may remain unverified.

Previous similar experiments have shown that even a cat can become a “scientist” if you create a profile with the right email address.
