Charging stations will appear at the company’s gas stations, on federal highways and at partner sites, Gazprom Neft said in a statement.

Currently, the Gazprom Neft network includes more than 60 electric charging stations equipped with household equipment. The charging time for an electric vehicle is 25 to 30 minutes, depending on the battery capacity. In 2025, the company plans to increase the number of stations to 140.

In the spring of 2024, Strategy Partners analysts predicted a sharp increase in sales of electric vehicles in Russia. They assumed that demand would grow on average 38% annually and in 2033 it would reach 340 thousand cars sold per year.

In September, Kommersant, citing data from Autostat, reported that sales of electric vehicles in Russia continue to decline. In September they decreased by 28% year-on-year, with a total of 1.27 thousand cars sold. Experts attributed this to stricter import requirements, high prices and insufficiently developed infrastructure.
