The Kama company, developer of the Atom electric vehicle, plans to attract 19.99 billion rubles from potential investors by issuing new shares. Among them are large industrial and energy companies, Kommersant has learned.

The company revealed a list of potential investors as part of the legal dispute. The list of companies appears in the Tatarstan Arbitration Court’s decision of October 18 on the claim of Kama’s minority shareholder Sergei Vasin. The latter challenged the issuance of shares, alleging violation of his preemptive right. The court rejected the claim, the publication notes.

The board of directors of Kama approved the placement of an additional 547.9 thousand shares by private subscription at a price of 36.5 thousand rubles per share, which will increase the authorized capital of the company by 19.99 billion rubles. Among the potential buyers of shares are Kamaz, Rotek, Renera and TVEL (part of Rosatom), Renova, Tatneft, RDIF, Gazprombank, Gazprom-Media Holding, Hit Motors Rus”, as well as the structures of the TEMPO holding.

The Kama company was founded in 2021. Its first investors were KamAZ CEO Sergei Kogogin and businessman Ruben Vardanyan, who invested 360 million rubles each. The main shareholder of the company is Voskhod LLC. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, 37.5% of Kama belongs to Kogogin, 25% to Vardanyan, and the remaining 37.5% to Spektr LLC. Last year, Renera acquired a stake in the company for 6.2 billion rubles.

Serial production of the Atom electric vehicle is planned to begin in 2025 at the Moskvich plant. According to Kama general director Igor Povarazdnyuk, production volumes in the first stage will depend on the number of pre-orders, which range from 5,000 to 15,000 cars. Until 2030, the company plans to produce up to 100,000 electric vehicles per year.
