Tinder has announced a new paid subscription option, the “ultra-premium service” Tinder Select, which costs $499 per month. Tinder Select is a “VIP service” available only to the top 1% of dating app users and offering “exclusive searching and matching.”
According to information on the official website, Select will allow users to allow access to their account to those users who wish to be owners of a VIP subscription (even if the lucky ones do not have a Gold or Silver membership), as well as send a “Message direct” without correspondence with the interlocutor at least twice a week (this rule applies to regular messaging).
To achieve high status, users must request to connect to the service and meet five company requirements: have a verified photo, “show intent to form a relationship,” post at least four photos, five interests, and a detailed biography.
“We know there is a group of highly engaged and active users who prioritize more efficient ways to find connections,” said Tinder chief product officer Mark Van Rijswyk, quoted by Bloomberg. “We have been conducting surveys and gathering feedback from this audience over the past few months to develop a completely new offering.”
Downloaded 340 million times in 190 countries since 2012, Tinder, as Business Insider reminds, already has experience in introducing paid subscriptions: we are talking about Tinder +, Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum, whose prices start at $24.99 per month .
