Apple this year tested information apps that help people manage their blood sugar, Bloomberg reports.
Apple employees with prediabetes took part in recognition. They had blood tests done to determine if they were at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and were monitored throughout the period using a variety of blood testing devices.
The app was used to record food intake, blood sugar levels, and changes in glucose levels relative to food consumed.
Apple has no plans to publicly release this app. The purpose of testing was to collect data, as well as explore new options for using it. [Bloomberg]
