The goods will be stored in 1,507 branches throughout the country, including 346 points in Moscow. In the Post Office offices, more than 325 thousand square meters are allocated for the placement of merchandise. m area.
The cost of storage for sellers will be 3.6 thousand rubles per month for a space of 100x50x50 cm. This amount includes acceptance, assembly, packaging and delivery services for the first 30 orders, each subsequent order will cost 85 rubles. Express shipping is paid separately based on market rates: 350 rubles in Ozon, 400 rubles in Wildberries, 5% of the order value (no more than 500 rubles) in Yandex Market. After placing an order, Russian Post promises to pick it up within 5-7 minutes and deliver it by courier within 30 minutes.
In addition, sellers will be able to deliver the goods to any of the 38 thousand branches, from where Russian Post will consolidate them and send them to the market’s logistics centers or warehouses. The cost of this service depends on the size and weight of the order and varies from 70 to 210 rubles per unit. Operational processes (storage, processing and transportation) will be handled by Russian Post, and warehouse and transportation management will be handled by Darkstore at Home software. The income from the project will be divided between the partners, but the conditions of its distribution are not disclosed.
The project has already been launched in pilot mode in Moscow, Kazan and Krasnodar. Sellers can request participation through the company’s website or personal account, which is currently available to a limited number of sellers. This warehousing model attracts sellers by reducing storage and delivery costs, Alexey Fedorov, head of the e-commerce council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), told Vedomosti.
Sellers choose FBS rather than FBO, as it is cheaper, notes Fedorov. It is enough to have your own couriers or an agreement with a courier service, for example, Yandex Taxi. With self-storage, sellers can also track whether a shipment is sent to a customer, whether new or old.
The head of the Electronic Commerce Association, Alexey Moskalenko, believes in the project. In his words, Russian Post is the largest operator with coverage throughout the country, which is why it recommends sellers add the delivery option through Pochta in the markets to significantly expand the sales geography.
At the end of the first half of 2024, the operating profit indicator (EBITDA) of Russian Post was positive for the first time since 2019 and reached 101 million rubles. For comparison, in the same period in 2023 the loss was 3.2 billion rubles.
