“There was tension over many issues, [но] <...> “Both sides said we don’t need to fight anymore,” Gulden said. He added that the dispute between the company and the artist “is a thing of the past” and the conciliation agreement does not include monetary compensation.
Adidas and Ye began collaborating in 2014 after the musician ended his partnership with Nike. The Yeezy brand, created in collaboration, helped the musician become a billionaire, notes The Guardian.
Adidas announced that it would end its partnership with the rapper in October 2022 due to the latter’s anti-Semitic statements. The company said Ye’s comments about Jews were “inappropriate, hateful and dangerous” and violated the company’s values.
In 2022, the musician said he lost $2 billion in one day because several big companies refused to cooperate with him. In December 2023, Ye apologized in Hebrew for his anti-Semitic comments and said he was sorry for the pain his words caused.
Gulden previously said she regretted ending her association with West, adding that she didn’t think he was a bad person. According to The Guardian, Adidas is now selling “huge stocks” of Yeezy apparel and donating the proceeds to charity.
