Intel’s revenue will fall 8% annually, or 37.9%, to $13.02 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to research notes reviewed by Reuters. Operating losses in the chip segment will reach $2.55 billion.
It was noted that Intel CEO Patrick Gelsinger will have to explain the reasons for such a rapid and serious decline in the revenue of the company, which has dominated the market for many years, at the shareholders meeting. One of the most important conditions for correcting the situation is to separate the core business from other divisions, as direct competitor AMD has done.
Moreover, Intel also performs poorly in the PC segment: revenues fell by 6% in the third quarter. In the server segment, Intel is also struggling: revenues could fall by 17% year-on-year.
