A new Neo Nomad visa for foreign tourists combining remote work and vacation has appeared in Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the country’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

- A visa can be obtained if the income is at least $3 thousand per month and is received outside Kazakhstan.
- Applicants must have health insurance and a certificate of no criminal record.
- The visa beneficiary will be able to stay in Kazakhstan for up to one year while continuing to work for a foreign company.
The ministry statement notes that visa recipients can work in IT, marketing, financial sector, consulting, design and e-commerce.
The economic effect of the introduction of a visa will be approximately 3.6 billion tenge ($7.2 million) per year if 500 foreigners apply for a visa.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan estimated the number of “modern nomads” at 35 million people. According to Minister Erbol Myrzabosynov, Almaty and Astana are already among the 150 most attractive cities for them.
