The Ministry of Internal Affairs spoke about fraudulent schemes in the Roblox game

In the first scheme, the attacker offers to buy a robux game coin outside the official store at a low price, and for “payment” asks for the parents or payment funds. After the transfer of money, it does not send anything or has access to the card for weaker, said the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The second scheme implies a proposal to receive the Robux currency for free; For this, the scammer requests to enter Roblox account data. After that, it changes the password and receives full account to the account, including the attached payment funds, the ministry explained.

To protect against attackers, they recommended not linking payment funds to the game accounts, limiting children’s access to payment funds and also discussing the importance of cybersecurity with the child.

At the end of January, Roskomnadzor reported that the Roblox administration eliminated at the request of the video game to the propaganda of LGBT*. The head of the video game industry, Vasily Ovchinnikov, said the complaint was originally “about servers with games whose names directly contained the LGBT abbreviation* in English.”

Roblox was released in 2006 by American businessmen David Bazuka and Eric Kassel. The platform allows you to create your own games and play projects developed by other users.

*LGBT is recognized in Russia as an extremist movement, its activity is prohibited.
