The reduction in prices is explained by the oversaturation of the market with parts supplied through parallel imports, as well as by increasing competition between distributors.

According to Megamarket, in 2024 Russians began to buy PC components much more frequently. The standard kit for self-assembly includes a power supply (5.5 thousand rubles), a video card (56 thousand rubles), an SSD drive (4.5 thousand rubles), a motherboard (11.5 thousand rubles) , RAM memory (4.5 thousand rubles). , processor (16 thousand rubles), cooling system (2 thousand rubles), keyboard and mouse (3.5 thousand rubles), monitor (18 thousand rubles) and case (5 thousand rubles).

Sales of video cards increased by 375% compared to last year, processors by 327%, motherboards by 263% and RAM by 186%, the study notes.

Nvidia is the leader among video card manufacturers, and in the processor segment, users most often choose Intel Core i5 and AMD Ryzen 5. In the top sales of motherboards, MSI’s position has been supplanted by Gigabyte models, the demand for which has increased by almost 900% is due to the active promotion of the brand.

Among SSD drives, Kingston is the leader in terms of sales, surpassing KingSpec. At the same time, Samsung maintains its revenue leadership. Samsung’s high SSD sales last year were associated with an aggressive pricing strategy driven by a surplus that will run out in 2024, market experts say.

The main buyers of components continue to be people between 25 and 34 years old. Residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk region, Krasnodar region and Tatarstan make the most active purchases and spend the most on components in the Sakhalin region, the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and the Magadan region.
