This concept targets a range of over 650 km with a single fuel fill. Hyundai is positioning the Initium as a precursor to a future production hydrogen electric vehicle to be introduced in the first half of next year.

As part of its ambitious strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, Hyundai sees hydrogen as a “key element across its product range”, including cars, trucks and buses, under the all-new “HTWO” hydrogen business brand.

While hydrogen offers a clean alternative that emits only water vapor, challenges remain in packaging, distribution and infrastructure development, lagging even electric vehicle charging networks.
