The Canadian management company Four Seasons, which owns premium hotels around the world, will no longer be involved in the management of the Russian branches. Data about Seasons Hotel Moscow and Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St. Petersburg have disappeared from the operator’s official portal, and the hotels have their own websites.
The representative of the Four Seasons branches in Moscow and Saint Petersburg gave RBC a clear explanation of what is happening:
"In light of rapidly evolving restrictions, Four Seasons has suspended its direct management services for Four hotels, which continue to operate independently under their current name as of July 6."
At the same time, he clarified that the appearance of new sites, where both the names of the hotels and the Four Seasons brand are saved, is due solely to “technical limitations”.
Seasons Hotel Moscow and Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St. Petersburg also confirm that the hotels are operating as usual, they will remain under the famous brand, nothing will change for customers.
The trend of total or partial withdrawal of premium hotel chains from Russia has been observed since March, when the representative offices closed Hilton and Hyatt, restricting development activities in the first place.
The Marriott chain announced its withdrawal from the Russian market on June 3, and information subsequently appeared online about the names under which world-brand hotels are supposed to continue to operate.
