The speech analysis process evaluates cognitive functions such as memory and attention, as well as language and articulation skills. This enables early diagnosis of decline in cognitive and motor functions in patients with mild cognitive impairment and dementia.

Using new technology that combines speech analysis with large language models for the first time, scientists achieved a record accuracy of 87.3% in the ADReSSo test, surpassing the previous record by 1.9%. An application was also developed to predict high-risk groups based on speech scores.

The technology, which aims to provide convenience to the elderly, will be tested in social service centers. Lead researcher Kang Byung Ok stated that the new solution allows regular health monitoring without the need to visit medical facilities.
