Chinese scientists have developed and tested a new type of microwave weapon that focuses electromagnetic waves at one point, synchronizes them and increases the power to hit a single target. According to the South China Morning Post, the weapon’s operating principle is “reminiscent of the Death Star beam” from Star Wars.

The weapon system has already passed experimental tests and can be used for military purposes. Like the Star Wars space station, the Chinese weapon must “accumulate the energy necessary for destruction, combining several beams into one.”
The system consists of platforms installed in different locations that emit microwaves that are concentrated into a single powerful beam. The beam attacks a single target, such as foreign satellites, including GPS.
