I watched the first episodes of the series “Molodezhka. New shift.” I haven’t watched it before, but now I’m hooked

Yesterday, STS and Kinopoisk released the first two episodes of the series “Molodezhka. New shift.”

A full 5 years have passed since the last season of the original Molodezhka, and 11 years have passed since the first. During this time, we managed to raise a generation of listeners. And now a decision has been made to reboot the film globally with Russian hockey players.

We have already watched the first episodes and are eager to share our impressions. It’s too early to judge whether the restart was a success, but we can already understand in which direction the game’s creators are moving. Let’s figure it out.

Everything here is new, but at the same time very familiar.

Like the original, Revolution clearly does not claim the laurels of an incredible work of art. This is just a movie for a comfortable time in the evening after a hard day at work.

What is the series about?: The Student Hockey League team “Polytech Sharks” is on the verge of disbandment. But Kazantsev comes to the university and decides to turn the “Sharks” into the reserve team of the league and thereby increase the rating of the institute.

He primarily sees former Bears player Andrei Kislyak as the club’s coach. To take the Sharks to the next level, Kislyak will not only have to find common ground with the next generation of athletes, but also change himself.

To be honest, before this review I had never seen Molodezhka. Not a fan of movies about extraordinary achievements and other achievements. However, while preparing the review, I started watching the original series; it was able to drag on from the first episodes.

And in spirit, “New Shift” continues the story. You literally see in her everything that is so familiar to you: from images to plot moves. Although at the same time we are launching a new team. Obviously, director Andrei Golovkov, who worked on both the series and the new film, managed to transfer this atmosphere.

The similarities can be seen literally from the first row and the binding ties. If earlier coach Makeev saved the outsider team “Bears” from dissolution, now this role falls to former athlete Andrei Kislyak.

Rest of the plot, characters and historical differences. Everyone here cares about the generation of players equally, although there are already charming characters. Literally everything is different for newcomers, but at the same time the authors will perform the same entire range of emotions that you hear: from heavy drama to imposing comedy.

The game’s creators are not trying to reinvent the wheel. They are already following proven lines, changing only the characters of the story in order to freshen up the project. For example, someone may give up on training because of building their personal life, while someone steals auto parts to earn money. There is a criminal component, but it is more comical.

The dialogues didn’t grow with the characters. They remained at the same level of average lousiness, when people communicate with each other about everything and nothing at the same time. They perform more of a connecting function, but at the same time they still do not reject. New heroes are interesting to watch, especially outside of training.

Everyone who saw the original “Molodezhka” will be glad to see the return of the cast they knew. The authors skillfully play on nostalgia and demonstrate old heroes to players, throwing them on the screens from the very first minutes.

The problem with the new season is that it I think I can please everyone at once. Because of this, the screen is difficult to replace with all the new legislators, since they are given almost the same amount of time as the Bears.

For newcomers, there are modern hobbies that will appeal to new viewers. Here you will find streamers, models, teenagers from ordinary families, and many others. In general, stick to unusual looks for everyone. I am glad that the scriptwriters were able to skillfully introduce the modern speech of young people – it does not reject it at all.

As for provision, you shouldn’t expect any unexpected decisions. This is a fairly standard series that “just works” and doesn’t need to invent crazy camera swipes and chaotic location changes.

The story is formulaic, but fun to watch. The most important thing is the atmosphere of sports and personal change. All this was then, all this remains now.

Watch or not

Authors of the game “Molodezhka. “New Shift” against the background of the quiet lamp atmosphere inherent in the original “Molodezhka”. Plus, they wisely diluted their new actors and trends.

This is a rare case when the creators managed to make a competent continuation after many years. At least, that’s what it looks like right now. Let’s see what happens next.
