The Moscow Stock Exchange explained the postponement of the start of operations as a technical error

Updated at 11:19 Moscow time. The Moscow Stock Exchange reported that trading will begin at 12:00 Moscow time with the opening auction, and that the main trading is scheduled for 12:10. The error that caused the postponement of the inauguration has been completely eliminated.

The exchange’s specialists identified a technical error at 9:03 Moscow time “as part of regular events in preparation for the start of trading,” according to the statement. “In addition, the start of operations on the Moscow Stock Exchange will be announced,” said a representative of the site.

He added that operations in the derivatives market, the foreign exchange market and the precious metals market, as well as deposit and credit operations in the money market, are carried out normally.

The Moscow Stock Exchange announced the postponement of trading on the stock market on November 7 at 9:09 Moscow time. In early 2024, the site suspended stock trading several times: on February 13 due to a hardware error on the main server and on February 14 due to a configuration error. On August 14, trading was suspended due to a software error.

In October, the Moscow Stock Exchange announced that it expects a record trading volume at the end of 2024. “Four years before this, we updated trading volume records annually. Now we are going at a good pace, there are many possibilities to update the registry for the fifth year,” said the director of IR of the exchange, Anton Terentyev.
