According to the agency’s interlocutor, the device will have integrated cameras to take photographs and record videos. The device will also support voice interaction and will be able to connect to a suite of Baidu products, such as Baidu Maps and the Baike online encyclopedia, the agency’s interlocutor said.

The cost of Baidu glasses will probably be lower than that of Ray-Ban from Meta*, which costs $299 (about 29.3 thousand rubles at the exchange rate of the Central Bank as of November 8), and sales of the device could begin to early 2025, Bloomberg reports the source said.

According to the agency, the new device was developed by Xiaodu, a division of the Chinese company that produces, among other things, voice speakers and wireless headphones that connect to Baidu’s content ecosystem. His representative did not respond to Bloomberg’s request.

Meta* smart glasses, created in collaboration with Ray-Ban, will be launched in 2023. They can be used to take photos, record videos and share content.

The American Apple also plans to launch a similar device, Bloomberg wrote in November, citing informed sources. According to them, the company is currently conducting an internal study that consists of collecting employee feedback on AI glasses on the market.
