Critics, including AI commentator Nabeel S. Qureshi, noted the apparent discrepancy between the company’s “good guy” image and its new military ties.

While Anthropic’s terms of service prohibit certain uses such as weapons development and disinformation, it does allow government agencies to use Claude for foreign intelligence analysis and covert “influence campaigns.”
