Yandex denied the presence of “red flags” when hiring IT specialists. The company said a list of rules previously posted by social media user Yandex reported this to the Habr portal.

“These “rules” are the work of individual interviewers from one of the Yandex teams, published on one of the thousands of pages on the internal network. “They are not official hiring recommendations and largely contradict the company’s internal rules, which is why they have already been eliminated and a conversation was held with the team,” states the press service of the computer giant.
They added that, first of all, when hiring, attention is paid to professional skills. Requirements for candidates may vary from team to team, “but no one can limit people by age,” and at the moment the company “employs several thousand people over 40 years old,” Yandex said.
On November 9, user X Anton Nazarov posted several screenshots of the internal Yandex portal. They describe signs that could prevent candidates from getting a job, including being 40 years old or older, having a “strong negative attitude toward the company” and having worked in the public sector.
