As CNBC reports, the funds raised will be used to purchase 100 thousand Nvidia graphics chips, which are used to accelerate the computing power of the AI supercomputer.
The funding round is expected to close early next week. It is known that the sovereign funds of Middle Eastern countries allocated 5 billion dollars. xAI will receive another $1 billion from anonymous investors.
The capitalization of Elon Musk’s startup is currently estimated at $50 billion. According to the Financial Times, it is 45 billion dollars.
At the beginning of September, Elon Musk announced on his X account the launch of the Colossus cluster to train artificial intelligence with 100 thousand Nvidia H100 accelerators.
