The Russian government has determined a list of government services that can be obtained at the MFC for biometrics without a passport.
Joining the list:
• obtaining or replacing a driver’s license
• vehicle registration
• registration of state pension
• obtaining a building permit as a developer
• submission of applications for divorce
• receiving benefits in connection with the birth of a child and other social support measures.
The ability to use biometrics will be available to those who have previously registered approved biometrics in the Unified Biometric System. Now those who have registered biometrics can contactlessly pay for purchases, metro travel in Kazan, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, make electronic purchases, eSim and receive some other services.
At the start of the new project, the ability to use biometrics will be available in the Lipetsk, Chelyabinsk and Leningrad regions – it will appear in local MFCs by the end of the year. [РБК]
