Meta has filed to withdraw its FTC lawsuit because the company argues there was no anticompetitive conduct whatsoever: The platforms named in the FTC lawsuit were purchased as part of legitimate transactions and benefited Meta users.
In addition, the court dismissed part of the FTC’s lawsuit over Meta’s anticompetitive claims because it restricted developers’ access to the company’s API if they agreed not to create competing products.
But the regulator’s lawyers are serious and will seek the decisions they need. Therefore, there is a high probability that Meta will suffer the same fate as Google, which may have to give up some services.
