The founder of Delimobil, the Italian Vincenzo Trani, does not plan to leave the local market, the service will continue to operate in Russia.

“I love swimming against the current”: the founder of Delimobil explained the continuation of investments in Russia

“I always use simple logic: you need an argument to get out of a deal. This argument can be valuable [ценность]. If there is an offer and it corresponds to the value of the company, this is a conversation. And if this is not (and is not now), then what can we talk about? Trani said in an interview with RBC.

The founder of the service believes that Delimobil "has great prospects for development, it is the leader of the Russian car-sharing market." According to Trani, he sees the need to launch the service in new Russian cities.

Asked if his presence in Russia and Belarus makes it difficult to do business in other countries, Trani said he "likes to swim against the tide when it makes sense."

“The Delimobil company has shown that there is a point. Of course, some additional adjustments had to be made after February 24, but the corporate structure did not undergo radical changes in either Russia or Belarus. There are difficulties, but we adhere to a simple position: we are engaged in business, not politics, ”he explained.

  • Delimobil is present in ten cities of Russia, the fleet consists of 20 thousand cars. On average, it is planned to increase its size by 10 to 12 thousand cars a year, Trani said.
  • In the fall of 2021, Delimobil Holding planned to hold an initial public offering on the New York and Moscow stock exchanges and raise $200-240 million or $230-276 million if the option is exercised. However, the placement was delayed at the last minute "due to market conditions." The company raised part of the funds in the form of a three-year guaranteed loan of 3 billion rubles, which Carsharing Russia placed on July 6.
  • Vincenzo Trani noted that the company is interested in continuing to work towards going public, sees "great potential" for a China IPO and is focused on 2023.
