According to the company, approximately 30 people were affected by the layoffs, including managers, technicians and marketing department employees. Chief marketer Benedict Reed was also among those fired. The company explained that these changes were necessary to improve operational efficiency and prepare for future growth.

Sanctuary AI, headquartered in Vancouver, raised C$140 million (about $99 million) in early July. However, the company faces stiff competition in the humanoid robot market.

The future of Sanctuary AI is still in doubt due to the departure of key figures and mass layoffs.
