Apple has notified owners of older iPhones and iPads running iOS 8 that starting December 18, 2024, their devices will no longer be able to back up to iCloud. Previously saved backups will also be deleted.
Using iCloud for backup requires a device with iOS 9 or later adapter system.
Owners of older devices are still able to back up their computers via macOS or Windows.
