The website finds that Android 16 will make it even easier to access the “Extra Dark” mode Android Authority. Introduced in Android 12 option can now be found in the display settings menu.

Since its launch, an “Extra dark” mode has been available in Android’s accessibility options menu in the version of Google’s operating system used on the Pixel. However, the location of the vehicle made it difficult to access for those who wanted to reduce the screen brightness.

In the first test version of Android 16, the option was moved to the “Display” (or “Display” menu in Portuguese) of the settings menu. THE function and description remain unchanged.

THE “Extra dark” mode allows the mobile phone screen to be set to a lower brightness than standard brightness. This setting is mainly useful for using a mobile phone in very low light environments, such as checking pending notifications at the cinema.

In alternative interfaces, “Extra dark” mode has been more accessible for a while now. An example of this is Samsung One UI, which makes the mode available in the quick settings menu.

According to website Android AuthorityThis option is only available on the Google Pixel 9 with Android DP1, but this limited availability is apparently a bug. In all cases, the feature remains available in the accessibility menu.
