This supercomputer was developed for tasks related to modernizing the US nuclear arsenal, including simulating nuclear explosions and predicting warhead reliability.

It is also capable of solving complex problems at the intersection of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

The device consumes more than 35 MW of energy and is considered one of the most efficient among machines of this scale. It is noteworthy that El Capitan not only outperforms its Intel and NVIDIA-based competitors, but also remains the more affordable solution in its category.
