One of the most notable changes is the addition of contact photos to the Inbox, making it similar to the native Messages app. Thanks to Apple’s new Branded Mail tools for businesses, logos now appear in emails. If a company hasn’t uploaded a logo, icons from Apple Maps are used instead.

The biggest functional change is that emails are automatically divided into four sections: General, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions. Each category is divided into “New messages” and “Old messages”. Users can customize these categories or disable them entirely to return to the traditional single view of their inbox.

Another addition is the Digest feature, which combines messages from the same sender. This feature can also be disabled for users who prefer detailed viewing.
