The new Windows 11 24H2 update brought optimization problems in many games. The failure caused Microsoft to stop distributing the update due to crashes in various games, especially those from the likes of Ubisoft. Avatar: Pandora’s Frontiers.
The reports started a few weeks ago when Reddit users reported that they were unable to play their games correctly. Among the errors, black screen, freezing and crashing errors are the most common and make the game unplayable.
These problems mostly occur in recent Ubisoft games such as: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Errors in other companies’ games have also been noted, but not to the same extent.
Microsoft had previously issued a statement stating that it was aware of the facts and stated that it blocked the installation of the Windows 11 24H2 update on machines with these games. The statement also states that the company and Ubisoft are working on ways to resolve this issue, but have not set a deadline.
Microsoft accumulates errors
It is nothing new for Microsoft to be criticized for problems experienced in games through Windows 11 updates. With each release, more users complain about compatibility issues, crashes, crashes, and performance loss.
For now, our recommendation for those who want to try the games listed above or those who prefer a more fluid experience is not to update Windows 11 to the 24H2 version.
