The UK antitrust regulator ordered Apple to lift App Store restrictions on third-party payment systems and allow developers to offer alternative payment options for purchases in their applications.

The company has 20 days to complete the setup. Otherwise, daily fines of $43 thousand were introduced. The decision by the Economic Defense Council (Cade) was made in response to a complaint in 2022 filed by MercadoLibre, the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America.
