According to Billbil-kun, known for its high accuracy in predictions, Sony is actively working on many announcements that could go beyond The Game Awards 2024.
It’s unclear whether this will be a full-fledged PlayStation Showcase or just a series of individual State of Plays.
The last major PlayStation Showcase was quite some time ago, with Sony opting for smaller presentation formats. It was previously expected that the company would introduce the PlayStation 5 Pro in September, but the console was announced without a big show.
In addition to games such as Ghost of Yotei and Marvel’s Wolverine, Sony is working on a new portable device that could be a direct rival to the Nintendo Switch.
But the release of this gadget is still in doubt. Considering the success of Steam Deck and the launch of many portable systems, it seems logical for Sony to return to this segment, especially after the emergence of PlayStation Portal.
