The game, which requires a significant amount of resources, was launched using the CrossOver application and emulation via GPT2 files.

This proves once again that modern Apple Silicon chips are capable of handling even such complex games, despite the lack of native support.

But working through emulation requires sacrifices. The game ran at medium graphics settings at 1600 x 900 resolution, without the use of upscaling or frame rendering technologies.

The frame rate was in the 30-40 FPS range, which wasn’t very impressive for a $3,199 device.

The shader compilation process took 5 to 10 minutes; this is relatively fast considering STALKER 2’s resource intensity.

Performance could be better with a native version for the Apple platform, but for now the game is only available to Mac users via emulation.
