The study, in which 41 men aged between 18 and 26 participated, examined how daily fluctuations in testosterone levels affected sexual thoughts, desires and flirting attempts. Participants were divided into two groups: 27 single men and 14 partnered men.
Researchers observed that although testosterone levels increased on days when single men interacted with potential partners, this did not coincide with changes in sexual desire. The findings suggest that rather than directly influencing sex drive, testosterone is more closely linked to courtship behavior, especially in single men.
