RomCom exploited these vulnerabilities through malicious websites to infect users and gain unauthorized access to critical systems. Mozilla fixed the vulnerability in Firefox with a patch on October 9, and Microsoft fixed the bug in Windows on November 12, following a report from Google’s threat intelligence team.
RomCom is known for previous ransomware attacks, such as those against Japanese tech giant Casio.
