The share of the alternative segment (offline channels, websites and social networks) will decrease from 55% in 2024 (183 billion rubles) to 29% in 2030 (343 billion rubles), analysts expect.

They noted the “high growth potential” of the short-term rental housing market amid the active development of domestic tourism and the shortage of accommodation facilities. By the end of 2024, its volume will amount to 333 billion rubles, and in the period from 2024 to 2030 in monetary terms it will grow on average by 24% annually, reaching more than 1.2 trillion rubles in 2030, according to the forecast . .

The main driver of market growth will be the digitalization of supply and demand, according to the Center for Social Development. Another “notable trend” is the restructuring of the market in favor of Russian services after the departure of foreign sites in 2022.

Tourists turn to online travel services because it is a simple and convenient way to plan a trip both within Russia and abroad, said Daria Kochetkova, general director of the Ostrovok.ru platform, in a conversation with Vedomosti.

Since March 2022, foreign online booking platforms Booking.com and Airbnb do not operate in Russia. The services introduced restrictions in response to the military operation in Ukraine.
