Indonesia expects Apple to offer $1 billion in investments within weeks, Indonesian Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani said.

In October 2024, Indonesia banned the sale of the iPhone 16 in its territory because Apple failed to meet its investment obligations. One of the main conditions for lifting the ban is large investments by companies in Indonesia. In addition, the iPhone must contain at least 40% of its parts made in Indonesia.

Apple initially offered to invest $10 million and then increase the amount to $100 million, but in both cases there were deviations from Indonesia.
