Previously, products that were not purchased by customers were returned for sale only after arriving at the main warehouse. Now the goods will be checked for defects and repackaged directly at the pickup point, after which they will be immediately available for orders in the region of this delivery point.

According to the test results of the new process, the average time between ordering the goods and delivery to the collection point was reduced by an average of 1.5 times, Wildberries calculated. This speeds up order processing and product access for customers.

“A survey of partners showed that the new process will have a significant impact on key aspects of their work. Most partners noted that implementing the update will reduce the time goods spend in transit, reduce logistics costs, and allow for faster resale of goods after returns. We continue to improve processes for all participants on the platform,” said Anna Averina, director of the customer service and experience department of the joint company Wildberries and Russ.

The new mechanism has already started operating in 20 regions of Russia, including the Kaliningrad, Pskov, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as the Primorsky and Krasnodar Territories.
