However, the company faced difficulties in providing 5G modems to its processors. After Qualcomm refused to supply, Xiaomi turned to MediaTek, which agreed to supply the modem for the new chip.

It was previously reported that Xiaomi was developing a 3nm chip together with MediaTek and TSMC would be involved in production.

This collaboration will allow Xiaomi to integrate 5G modems from Dimensity and Helio developers into their devices, ensuring high performance and compatibility with modern communication standards.

The new chipset is expected to compete with flagship solutions from Qualcomm and MediaTek such as Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400.
