Dupin says the companies’ collaboration has spanned more than a decade and yielded a 40 percent increase in efficiency compared to solutions from Intel and AMD. Additionally, initial results show that Trainium2 can deliver up to 50% higher efficiency on this task.

These chips are used only for pre-training; Apple’s AI functions run either on the device or on its Private Cloud Computing platform running on Apple Silicon.
