During the break, Durov, speaking to Agence France-Presse, said he “trusts French justice” but declined to comment on the progress of the case and the charges against him.
The creator of Telegram was detained at Parisian Le Bourget airport on August 24, where he arrived on a private plane from Azerbaijan. Two days later, he was charged with refusing to cooperate with authorities in the area of cyber and financial crimes on Messenger.
The billionaire was subsequently released, but placed under judicial supervision, prohibited from leaving France, ordered to pay bail of 5 million euros and to report to the police station twice a week.
The day before, on December 5, blogger Yulia Vavilova, who accompanied Durov at the time of his arrest in France, said that the MacBook and iPhone confiscated by the police had been returned to him. She posted a photo of herself sitting surrounded by four laptops and three smartphones, noting that now “we only have two copies.” Vavilova did not specify whether the equipment was returned to Durov.
