This fee is standard for Apple and is valid in all countries outside the European Union. However, since the UK is not an EU member state, local developers took legal action.

The allegations are based on the fact that since July 25, 2017, Apple has been charging British developers a 30% commission when selling apps or subscribing to the App Store. The case involves $995 million that the plaintiffs are seeking to recover from Apple.

The claim is now going through all the authorities: the competition court has already overlooked this, now the case is in the Supreme Court.
