Alfa-Bank has launched A-Token, a platform for working with digital financial assets (DFA), reported the press service of the credit institution.
The Bank of Russia has included Alfa-Bank in its register of information system operators. The credit institution plans to use its own platform for issuing digital financial statements.
In addition, the bank is ready to provide its infrastructure to market issuers. Alfa-Bank aims at cooperation with professional and private investors, the press service noted. For clients, access to the platform will open directly in the mobile application, so transactions can be carried out instantly.
“A-Token will issue two types of digital financial instruments: equivalents of traditional financial instruments in the form of monetary rights and fundamentally new investment instruments, which have no analogues on the market. For example, the tokenization of physical assets, including precious metals,” the press service explained.
They added that tokenizing physical assets will allow investors to receive a monetary claim tied to their price or to the physical asset itself.
Earlier, the State Duma announced changes to the legislation that allows Russian companies to make international agreements in the CFA. In January, news broke that Russia was negotiating with Iran to create a stable currency.
